Ax Docs Scanner · Last updated 4 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data the Ax Docs Scanner app (“the App”) handles, why, and what your rights are. It is written to comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and the Information Technology Act, 2000 of India. In short: your documents stay on your phone, and we keep only the few account details needed to sign you in.
1. Who we are
The App is a product of Amionyx (“we”, “us”), a digital agency operating in India (amionyx.com). For the account data described below, Amionyx is the Data Fiduciary under the DPDP Act.
2. Your documents stay on your phone
Photos you take or import, scanned pages and the PDFs you create are processed and stored only on your device, in storage that other apps cannot read. We never upload, view or analyse your documents, and they are excluded from Android cloud backups.
A document leaves your phone only when you choose to share it, save it to a folder or open it in another app. What happens to it then is governed by the app or service you chose.
3. Personal data we collect
We do not collect your documents, contacts, location, phone number, advertising ID or usage analytics. The App contains no advertising and no analytics or tracking tools.
- Account: when you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture link with us.
- Profile: your name (optional) and what you mainly use the App for (Business, School/College or Personal).
- Security records: when you signed up and last signed in, and technical records our sign-in service keeps to protect accounts (such as IP address and device/browser information in its logs).
4. Why we use it (purpose and legal basis)
We process this data on the basis of your consent, given when you create an account, and for the legitimate purpose of providing the service you asked for. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or make automated decisions about you.
- To create your account, sign you in with Google, and keep the account secure.
- To understand, in aggregate, whether the App is used for business, education or personal needs, so we can improve it.
- To reply when you contact us, and to meet legal obligations.
5. Service providers
We use a small number of processors who handle data only on our instructions:
- Supabase: hosts our sign-in service and account database.
- Google: provides “Continue with Google” sign-in.
6. Where data is stored
Account data is stored with Supabase. Where data is processed outside India, we rely on safeguards permitted under the DPDP Act and our providers' contractual commitments.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your account data while your account exists. When you delete your account in the App (Settings → Account → Delete account), it is removed from our active systems immediately and from backups within 30 days, unless the law requires us to keep it longer.
Documents on your phone are deleted when you delete them in the App or uninstall it.
8. Security
- All communication with our servers is encrypted (HTTPS).
- Database rules allow each user to read and change only their own profile.
- Sign-in uses your Google account: the App has no password of its own for anyone to steal.
- Documents are kept in the App's private storage on your device.
9. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you may:
- Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct or update it (your name and usage can be changed in Settings).
- Erase it: delete your account at any time in the App, or ask us to.
- Withdraw consent: deleting your account withdraws it.
- Nominate a person to exercise these rights on your behalf.
- Raise a grievance with us, and with the Data Protection Board of India if unresolved.
10. Children
The App is intended for people aged 18 and over. Students under 18 should use it only with the knowledge and supervision of a parent or guardian, who is responsible for that use. If you believe a child has created an account without such supervision, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Grievance Officer and contact
Grievance & Data Protection Contact, Amionyx. Email: hello@amionyx.com. We respond within 30 days.
12. Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the App.
